There's a yearning for trust in Alex Nackman that manifests itself through candor and honest songwriting. Having toured extensively (over 700 shows in the U.S. and UK), been privileged to share some incredible show bills with the likes of Norah Jones, The Roots, Holy Ghost!, Tim Reynolds, Zac Brown Band, Will Hoge, and Buddy Guy among others, all while releasing 6 albums, Nackman has established himself as an artist, songwriter, producer, composer, and mixing engineer with staying power. As a touring artist, he has graced the stages of many venerable rooms such as The Troubadour and Roxy Theatre in L.A., Showbox in Seattle, Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Bowery Ballroom in New York, and The Borderline and Barfly in London, UK to name just a handful.
Named an MTV Buzzworthy Artist, an Apple iTunes Indie Spotlight Artist, and lauded by the BBC in London for his "electric fired gems," Nackman has pushed forward without looking back. He has composed music for projects on HBO, NBC, AMC, CBS Sports, Bravo, MTV, Verizon Wireless, Hyundai, Cadillac, GM, Nestea, Coca-Cola, among others. Drawing influence from The Cure, The Police, Nick Drake, Fleetwood Mac, New Order, Duran Duran, Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen, Marc Cohn, and Oasis, Nackman combines folk-rock, Americana, British New Wave/Pop, and Alternative Rock genres to create a rich and sonically euphoric sound palette both in production projects as well as in his own artist releases.
Alex Nackman mainly works from his studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn (vinegarhillsound.com) and is currently writing and recording a new album, producing and mixing several upcoming indie and major label releases, as well as composing music for television and film. Nackman grew up in Sleepy Hollow, NY and currently lives in Brooklyn.
